With X-Men, the reason you wouldn't choose Evolution over the original is because 95% of the characters are virtually unrecognisable if you know anything at all about the comics, and it'd drive you chicken oriental because you know that Toad's actually a bloke from Yorkshire in his forties, and that Rogue is not a miserable chuffin' goth (not that I'm remotely disparaging about goths - but Rogue is about as far from one as you can get)! Masters of the Universe, I'd go with the new one. Sure, the original Filmation series was good, and has bucketloads of nostalgia value (I still remember impatiently sitting through the Moomins waiting for it to start). But the new one is superior in every way; better animation, better characterisation, and better writing (and better toyline, if we're honest). Don't even mention New Adventures... My tops: * Transformers (surprise surprise) - but not these diablolical Japanese redub jobbies... Transformers: The Movie still stands up 20 years later. * Family Guy * Invader Zim - if nothing else, you've gotta love GIR... * Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends

i like evolution, love the original and ive read a few of the comics but it depends which ones u read. the storylines differ widely from series to series.
besides rogue could very well have been a goth in her youth, then cast off the black clothes and depressed attitude as she grew up. it could be true....
but anyway, id rather the toad wasnt from yorkshire, it gives the place a bad name. besides do americans even kno where yorkshire is? and it didnt stop them from changing piotr rasputin (colossus) russian MAN into peter aka tinman american BOY. urgh.
