"... ran straight into the trap himself, promptly being strung up and strangled until he was dead. Upon finding the heroic (but rather dim) huntsman, the young girl (who was called Mercury, after the planet, with which her father was rather enamoured) kindly cut him down and lay him out on the ground. Drawing the knife from his belt she decided to walk further into the scary forest and discover who had killed the heroic huntsman, and slit their throat. But she was still unaware that the wicked witch was, in fact, her nannny and so, when she came upon her nanny in a clearing she..."

"...persuading the girl to give her the huntsmans knife. But Mercury suddenly remembered where they were, and asked her nanny what exactly she was doing in the middle of the scary forest when she had told Mercury so many times never to enter the forest. The wicked witch thought quickly, but not quick enough, for Mercury was already backing away from her, the knife held high in front of her, glistening in the sunlight that filtered through the thick canopy of leaves above their heads. Turning, Mercury dived headlong back into the forest, scrambling through the dense undergrowth, desperatly trying to find the path. Eventually she emerged out onto the dirt track, running along it she..."

remembered something she'd seen in an old roadrunner cartoon, so bending the laws of physics she picked up the dirt road and turned it to face a nearby cliff. on the side of the cliff she painted a tunnel using the black nail varnish she always kept with her. remembering that in the old cartoons the first person could always run through the painted tunnel while the second would always hit the cliff she took a step back and started to run.....

"...people walked round in dtrange shoes with ticks on them and large carriages roamed around without the assitance of horses, there were boxes that contained small people and they all showed way too much flesh. Scared by what she saw, Mercury ran back through the tunnel into her own world, only to find that the tunnel didnt lead into her own world, it led to a world where the sky was grey and a perpetual lightening storm raged to the north, the earth was rocky and barren and the only life she saw was a thin stream of smoke issuing forth from the brick chimey attached to the side of a small wooden hut. Walking up to the hut Mercury peered through the window and saw..."

The idea being that when she woke up she might have an idea of what it is she should do and how she could get home. Unfortunately, the only useful items in the hut were a fairly small bag, 4 AA batteries, a picture of a beach, an envelope and a pen. After waiting to see if anyone would come to the hut, Mercury eventually left a note for the hut's owner explaining her predicament, and walked out of the hut. After looking around her, she decided to..."
